It's ALL about Empowerment!

Hello REN Family and Visitors,

Welcome to REN’s blog, a place for empowerment! A place where we will intimately discuss living our best lives, while marking the journey in the quest for our sustainable health. In the future, we will explore, divulge, heal, commune and blog about sustainable health. We will journal our explorations and delve into why we are health questors and our life choices that have impacted our journey.

First, let me introduce myself and share with you how I came to REN and how REN came to me.
My name is  Dr. Yvonne O'Neal Allu, I am a Chiropractor, acupuncturist, movement/music therapist, health educator, health and nutrition coach.

For the past ____years (I’m not disclosing my age just yet) I have worked in the healthcare field. While practicing the "art" of healing, the "artist" in me lie dormant until violently awakened by grief (in 2009 my big brother Kevin “Ren” Murray passed away at the tender age of 52 as the result of a motorcycle accident); it was through this loss an integral part of me was found.
Shortly after the loss of my brother, I traveled to Africa and there in the motherland, I experienced the "Ah Ha" moment of all moments. I came to understand that life isn’t promised to us, not even another day and that I must get busy about the business of LIVING. My music, my voice! For many years my music was in the shadow of my work, yet everyday it was part of my spirit and daily rituals (I sang while showering, cooking, driving and at any given moment I was subject to break into song).

With this realization I decided my gifts were not going to go to waste, that the voice inside of me that was crying out would be heard, then, the "Artist" inside me emerged! I was now tasked with how to manage my love for both medicine and music. So, I did what anyone would do when love is at the center of it all - marriage! I married my passion of music and medicine and out of this union the concept of REN was born; a nonprofit foundation focused on empowerment.  I embarked on this mission with my colleague and (sister girl) Leona Warner, a friend whose life has been about the business of empowering people. We share a vision of community wellness, community holism and a passion for educating about sustainable health, through the use of art, health and humanity to accomplish this goal.

This is going to be an incredible journey of EMPOWERMENT at REN.

Please feel free to comment as we welcome the engagement!

See you next blog!
